Pioneers in sustainability: Oberhof relies on the PistenBully 100 E +++

The Zweckverband Thüringer Wintersportzentrum Oberhof (Association of Thuringian Winter Sports Centers Oberhof) is leading the way in sustainable slope preparation and has added the first fully electric machine of this type, the PistenBully 100 E from Kässbohrer, to its fleet.

After a test phase lasting several months, the all-electric machine has proven its worth on-site with its performance, practicality, and efficiency. It is currently in use at the LOTTO Thüringen Ski Hall.

Particularly impressive: The electric snow groomer is powered entirely by solar energy. Around 2,700 photovoltaic modules already generate sustainable energy across the sports facilities in the town of Oberhof. Combined with the cold network, commissioned in 2023, which utilizes recovered waste heat, Oberhof is setting new standards for renewable energy in sports facility operation.

An important step towards climate-friendly infrastructure – and a strong signal for the future of winter sports in the "Green Heart of Germany"
