Mountain Sutton Has New fun trail to discover this summer

The summer season is about to begin at Mont SUTTON, with the opening of the Plein air Sutton / MTB mountain bike trail network and disc golf course on Saturday, May 16. The season will then truly kick off on Saturday, June 20, with the opening of the chairlift and giant zipline. What promises to be a major highlight of this season launch is undoubtedly the inauguration of a brand-new family attraction: an immersive adventure trail set in nature near the top of Chairlift II, featuring an active course with various modules.

An original, 100% Quebec-based experience, by PXP

Conceived as an active, sensory and resolutely unique experience , this unprecedented route designed specifically for the mountains promises to redefine hiking – after a chairlift ride to fully enjoy it – by adding a dimension of play, discovery and self-improvement.

Developed from original concepts by the Quebec company PXP – Integrated Design, which specializes in creating experiences that connect people to places and give meaning to spaces, this new generation trail integrates harmoniously into the natural environment of Mont SUTTON.

Across several themed areas, rocky zones, wooded spaces, and spectacular viewpoints , visitors will be invited to explore a series of interactive modules comprising 15 stations designed to stimulate both the body and the imagination. Balance beams, logs, tunnels, a suspension bridge, ladders, a panoramic swing, unusual telescopes, and art installations will be part of this adventure where looking, listening, and moving become the guiding threads of the experience.

This distinctive trail, designed for all ages, offers a unique way to discover the mountains, revealing their landscapes, topography, and natural secrets from a fresh perspective. Combining an accessible physical challenge, family fun, and breathtaking scenery, this new playful trail promises to be the perfect complement to the panoramic chairlift ride. Several routes will be available, depending on the desired level of physical difficulty. Everyone will find something to enjoy and a wonderful outdoor experience!

The inauguration of this fun trail will take place on Saturday, June 20th, as part of the summer season launch party at the mountain. So mark your calendars!

New major events this summer

In addition, new events will take place in the mountains this summer, starting with the Ultra Obscura , a new adventure race by Sinister Sports , the undisputed leader in trail running. This unique event will take place over 24 hours, on June 13th and 14th, and will traverse the trails of Mont Sutton, the Sutton Natural Environment Park, and Plein air Sutton.

And a highly anticipated new feature for all mountain biking enthusiasts will certainly be the only stop on Quebec soil for the Into the Gnar tour , an immersive mountain biking coaching experience, presented in collaboration with Devinci, and taking place over 3 days from July 10 to 12, with internationally renowned coaches Yoann Barelli and Nate Spitz in attendance.

Among the returning events during the season are the Inferno Trail Sutton race (Saturday, May 9), Bike Fridays with chairlift extended until 8 p.m. (starting July 3), the return of the SP Mountain Challenge (August 29) to benefit MS Canada to fight multiple sclerosis, and the 3rd edition of the Mont SUTTON Trail (October 3) organized by Série Trails Québec, taking place during the popular Autumn Festival, which will be held on the weekends of September 19 to October 18.

An increasingly sought-after offering

In addition to these special events, the many summer activities offered on the mountain will naturally return, starting with the very popular Summit Camping , whose 21 campsites and 2 rustic shelters await the first visitors of the season starting Saturday, May 30. Reservations are already open online, so some dates must be booked early, especially the night of the Perseid meteor shower on Wednesday, August 12! It will be possible to camp at the summit by booking your chairlift ride to facilitate the ascent and your summit meal for a hearty meal delivered to cook on the communal stoves, until Sunday, October 18!

As for the Plein air Sutton / MTB mountain bike trail network at Mont Sutton, it will open on Saturday, May 16 , and promises plenty of activities for a summer of unbridled riding. Mountain bike rentals, all-inclusive introductory sessions, and guided tours will all be available to maximize the fun on the trails. At the same time, the 18-basket disc golf course in the woods will also open, having undergone renovations during the season. Disc golf clinics with professional Julien Quenneville will also be available this season, offering the chance to learn the basics of this new sport, improve technique, or even develop a more competitive approach.

Starting Saturday, June 20 , as a big season opening party unfolds, including another VR Expo Day , it will be possible to enjoy the chairlift ride (in pedestrian mode or for mountain bike lifts), the giant zipline , the steepest in Canada, have a meal at the Cube-IK outdoor restaurant at the foot of the slopes, and fully enjoy everything the mountain has to offer in summer!

Minimal impact on the installation work for the new chairlift

And although many will notice the ongoing work for the new quad chairlift, the impacts on summer events and more specifically on mountain bike trails will be minimal: No work on weekends or holidays — enough to fully enjoy the season!
