Brixental presents itself at the Austrian Alpine Open as a golf region with a future
22/May/2026
Alongside the international golf tournament, the Kids2Golf Week in Westendorf is generating excitement among young golfers. When the international golfing elite gathers in Kitzbühel at the end of May, the Brixental valley will also be entirely dedicated to the sport: From Thursday, May 28th to Sunday, May 31st, 2026, the DP World Tour will be making its debut in Tyrol with the Austrian Alpine Open presented by Kitzbühel. The prestigious tournament will be held at the Kitzbühel-Schwarzsee-Reith golf course – providing a stage with international appeal for the entire region.
With top international players, thousands of visitors, and worldwide TV coverage, the tournament is one of the sporting highlights of the year in the Kitzbühel Alps. The Kitzbühel Alps – Brixental Tourism Association is also prominently represented at this major event with a 25 m² promotional stand, using the platform to showcase the Brixental valley as an attractive golf and culinary region. The focus is on the ideal conditions for a golf holiday in the Kitzbühel Alps: a total of 14 golf courses within just 40 kilometers, including the multiple award-winning Leading Golf Course Westendorf, which is considered one of the most beautiful golf courses in Austria. The offerings are complemented by genuine hospitality, high-quality cuisine, and a wide range of leisure activities.
Alongside the international tournament, the Kids2Golf Week will take place at the Kitzbüheler Alpen Westendorf Golf Club. From May 18th to 30th, 2026, children and teenagers can expect a diverse program centered around golf – with the aim of playfully inspiring young people to take up the sport and giving them exciting insights into the world of professional golf.
Highlights include the "Road to AAO26" tournament at Golfclub Westendorf, golf clinics with tour pros, taster days, and visits to the Austrian Alpine Open in Kitzbühel. A special highlight awaits on Saturday, May 30: In the "Beat the Pro" competition, children and teenagers can challenge the professionals of the DP World Tour directly on the 18th hole.
By combining top-level international sport with targeted support for young talent, the region once again underlines its strong position as a golf destination in the Alps. The Austrian Alpine Open and the Kids2Golf Week not only create sporting highlights but also provide valuable tourism impetus and international attention for the entire Brixental region.
