Oberstdorf Kleinwalsertal mountain railways: New construction of the Walmendingerhorn cable car planned

Following the modernization of the Fellhorn cable car I and the revitalization of the Möser cable car as a key connection in the Fellhorn-Kanzelwand two-country ski area, the next major investment is planned for the Walmendingerhorn. With the "OK in Bewegung" investment and modernization program, the Oberstdorf Kleinwalsertal mountain railways are consistently pursuing their path towards sustainable tourism development.

The construction of the new Walmendingerhorn cable car fulfills a long-planned, cherished project to strengthen the region. This ensures safe and reliable access to the "Entspannten" mountain in the future. The mountain railway company is acting with careful consideration and takes its responsibility for the landscape, our region, its inhabitants, and future generations very seriously.

The Walmendingerhorn offers the perfect conditions for hiking, skiing and relaxing. Summer and winter are activities for everyone:

• Thanks to the Walmendingerhornbahn cable car, it's easy to reach the mountain station at almost 2,000 vertical meters. The starting point, from which skiers enjoy their turns on well-groomed slopes and hikers in the summer to go on numerous mountain tours.

• The early bird catches the worm: with a sunrise tour and a rich breakfast buffet it starts much better in the day. This special start to the day takes place in the summer season on Wednesdays on selected dates

• The mountain station of the Walmendingerhornbahn itself has a glass panoramic lift and a sheltered oasis with deck chairs area. Even in a deck chair, you do not have to do without culinary delicacies: service is also available for sun lovers.

• In summer, a stone fountain provides the right background noise at the mountain station.

After more than 60 years, an era will end at the Walmendingerhorn after the 2025/2026 winter season. This cable car has accompanied generations of locals and visitors, taking them to the mountain for special experiences.
