Line Dancing at The Wobbly Barn to Benefit Killington Search & Rescue

The Wobbly Barn Steakhouse & Nightclub, in partnership with Killington Resort and the KSAR Foundation, will host a special night of line dancing on Thursday, April 2nd, with proceeds benefiting Killington Search & Rescue (KSAR). The event will serve as the culmination of a month-long community fundraising effort grounded in the spirit of “One Killington.”

Earlier this month, Killington Resort approached KSAR with the idea of launching a matching grant opportunity to help fund critical equipment and training needs. From that initial conversation, the effort quickly grew into a broader community initiative, bringing together local businesses and partners to amplify support for the all-volunteer rescue team.

Throughout the month of March, Killington Resort has encouraged donations to the KSAR Foundation, pledging to match contributions up to $5,000. To cap off the campaign, the Resort and its partners are inviting the community to come together for a fun and meaningful night at The Wobbly Barn, celebrating what can be accomplished when the community rallies around a shared cause.

“Killington Search & Rescue is an essential part of what keeps this region safe,” said Chris Karr, Owner of The Wobbly Barn. “We’re proud to be part of this ‘One Killington’ effort and to host an event that brings people together while supporting the volunteers who are always there when they’re needed most.”

The KSAR Foundation supports Killington Search & Rescue by funding vital equipment and advanced training that extend beyond municipal resources. Donations raised through this campaign will help provide critical communication systems and backcountry training, ensuring rescuers can operate effectively in remote terrain where dependable communication can make all the difference in an emergency. These resources help protect both residents and visitors in the Killington area.

As we developed the matching grant initiative with Killington Search & Rescue, we learned The Wobbly Barn was planning a line dancing fundraiser. Killington Resort continues to emphasize the importance of preparedness, responsibility, and respect when venturing beyond resort boundaries, encouraging guests and locals alike to support KSAR's mission. Earlier this winter, Killington Resort shared and promoted an original video on its social media channels featuring uphill safety insights from Josh Eckler, Director of Killington Search and Rescue.

Community members and visitors are invited to join the April 2nd line dancing event at The Wobbly Barn starting at 6:00 p.m., where all proceeds will benefit the KSAR Foundation to help close out the matching donation campaign on a high note.
