Legendary 2 Alpes Derby Race Is Back

More than just a competition, this event marks the return of a legendary challenge on the slopes of Les 2 Alpes. Skiing enthusiasts, families, and thrill-seekers are invited to experience an adventure, an unforgettable adventure on one of the greatest skiable vertical drops in Europe. On the program: an exceptional descent of over 13 km, winding from 3,400 m to 1,650 m altitude, for a majestic epic at sunset.

Numerous activities will punctuate the day, including the installation of a partner village at the foot of the slopes. Visitors can enjoy ski tests, tastings, and various activities offered by the event's official partners.
The event is offered in two formats :
The Chrono Ride , a speed event for experienced riders (skiing, snowboarding, or telemark skiing), with a mass start. More than €7,000 in cash prizes and other prizes are up for grabs.
The Sunset Ride , a downhill run accessible to those 12 years and older, designed with a family-friendly atmosphere. Participants can enjoy a descent at sunset, with a free raffle offering nearly €3,000 in prizes. The festivities will extend throughout the day with several highlights: - A Fan Zone and DJ set at 2,600 meters altitude, to cheer on the racers as they pass by the Pano Bar between 6:00 PM and 6:45 PM, - Concerts and a festive après-ski party that will continue into the evening. This 2026 edition promises to bring together at least 400 participants, as well as many spectators from across the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region to celebrate the end of the ski season in a friendly and spectacular atmosphere. Several top athletes will also be present, including brothers Aidan and Jonas Chollet, Léa Casta, and Mathieu Gravier (subject to their respective schedules).
Starting at an altitude of 3,400 meters and finishing at 1,650 meters, Arès Ride offers the world's longest downhill run: 1,750 meters of vertical drop over more than 13 kilometers. The race starts at 6:00 PM.
