New shareholder agreement for the Swiss Ski Pool
16/June/2026
Swiss-Ski and the Association of Swiss Sporting Goods Suppliers (SPAF) have signed a new contract to continue their cooperation within the framework of the Swiss Ski Pool.
The Swiss Ski Pool, organized as a simple partnership, began its operations in 1969. It comprises over 60 equipment suppliers and support providers from the hardware and software sectors.
At the equipment supplier meeting held on June 1, 2026, in Sursee, representatives of Swiss-Ski and SPAF signed a shareholders' agreement adapted to current requirements and the changing environment of the sporting goods industry. This aims to ensure the best possible promotion of Swiss snow sports in the future. In addition, the various regulations and agreements were comprehensively revised and adapted to the current framework.
The Swiss Ski Pool is responsible for procuring and managing equipment and team apparel for the Swiss-Ski teams in Alpine skiing, Nordic skiing, and ski cross (equipment only). The partnership agreement between Swiss-Ski and the SPAF governs the financial and material support for Swiss-Ski sports and establishes clear regulations for equipment procurement. It defines the mutual rights and obligations of all contracting parties and promotes close collaboration between athletes and equipment suppliers for continuous product development. The overarching goal is the sustainable promotion of Swiss ski racing in compliance with the applicable guidelines of the International Ski and Snowboard Federation (FIS), the International Biathlon Union (IBU), and the International Olympic Committee (IOC).
Peter Barandun, President of Swiss-Ski, says: “The Swiss Ski Pool, a joint venture between the ski industry and Swiss-Ski, is of great importance to Swiss snow sports. It plays a central role in procuring the best possible equipment for our athletes and contributes significantly to the regular and constructive exchange between the industry and our association.”
Markus Wolf, President of SPAF, adds: “We are very pleased about the conclusion of the new shareholders' agreement for the Swiss Ski Pool. Clearly defined and up-to-date framework conditions for the regulation and procurement of hardware and team clothing are an important pillar for the ski industry and create security and reliability within the entire Swiss snow sports system.”
