Baldy Mountain Resort has announced the introduction of cat skiing for the upcoming winter season, opening up access to some of the highest skiable terrain in the region.

Standing at an impressive 2,309 metres, the mountain top is lauded as one of the highest skiable points in the Okanagan.

How the New Packages Work

  • The resort is introducing a flexible schedule to cater to different types of mountain enthusiasts, utilizing days when the main lifts are both open and closed:

  • Weekend Single Rides: From Friday to Sunday, the resort will offer single ride tickets on the snowcat to transport guests directly to the top of the mountain.

  • Mid-Week Private Bookings: On Tuesdays and Wednesdays, when the mountain's regular lift operations are closed, winter sports lovers will be able to book exclusive cat skiing packages in advance.

  • Summer Prep and Glade Clearing

In preparation for the new season and expanded terrain access, summer maintenance is already moving at a fast pace.

"Our maintenance is well under way and brushing is a big focus this summer season with our rental machine arriving next week to take down much of the Alder," the resort shared in a statement. "We plan on opening up a couple of gladed areas and really clean up a few sections."

While crews prepare the winter slopes, Baldy Mountain’s summer hiking trails are currently open for the off-season.

Skiers and snowboarders looking to lock in their winter access can currently purchase early bird season passes, which remain available until August 24.
