POC Updates Its Sales Organisation In Spain And Latin America

POC invests in key territories, Spain/Iberia and many territories across Latin America, all of which will be brought closer to POC’s central business operations.

Many of the markets will benefit directly from enhanced access to products, warehousing, marketing, etc, all of which are important for sustainable growth and are a natural part of business evolution, but it also means bringing to a close our partnership with ​General Outdoor Ibérica, which has been a trusted partner and played a critical role in supporting and building POC from the beginning.

Commenting on the updates, Kolja Plegt, Chief Commercial Officer, POC, said, “POC is held up as a benchmark in innovation and safety, with unquestionable product development. Today, that is easy to see, but almost twenty years ago, as a newcomer to the market, it required a belief and vision. And it is this vision that Inaki and the whole General Outdoor’s team have in abundance, which led to a wonderful relationship that has lasted almost twenty years. It is without question that POC would not be where it is today, in Spain and Latin America, were it not for the vision and all the immense efforts they have undertaken in the territories, and I would like to thank them sincerely for everything they have done.”

Iñaki Zúñiga, General Manager, General Outdoor Iberica, added, “Twenty years ago, I discovered some wonderful visionaries at a small stand at ISPO who wanted to create a brand that would go much further than just ski safety. Although times and skiing styles have changed, the brand has grown spectacularly in cycling, driven by a very clear mission. For our part, it has been 20 years of learning, growth, hard work, and a lot of fun, along with millions of anecdotes. We have made great friends, who will remain. We will keep watching POC grow and wish them all the best for the future.

POC will undertake a commercial restructuring, led by three dedicated sales representatives, as part of a new approach in Spain/Iberia and Latin America. All three positions are confirmed and will be communicated to all retailers and partners in early February. These full-time POC sales managers will become the primary commercial contacts in Spain/Iberia, from order placement through to delivery, whilst Latin America will be supported by POC’s central team. All three will work closely with POC’s European Sales team and will receive the support of our European Customer Service team.
