Levi Ski Resort continues its long-term investment program. This year, investments are focused on increasing lift capacity on the South Slopes, with the aim of enhancing the area's functionality and further improving the smooth flow of ski days. The new Sunny Express chairlift, being built on the South Slopes, will increase capacity and speed up access to the resort's main runs. Construction will take place during the summer season, with commissioning planned for the 2026-2027 winter season.

Levi's South Slopes are the resort's most popular ski area thanks to their gentle, family- and beginner-friendly runs and diverse range of services. The increasing use of the area is reflected in continuous investments in efficiency, safety, and customer experience.
Sunny Express expands the lift network of the South Slopes
The existing heated six-seater chairlift in the South Slopes was put into operation at the end of 2014. Now, a new Sunny Express chairlift is being built alongside it, which will take skiers to the upper sections of slopes 8.2 and 8.3. The top station of the new lift is located approximately 150 meters below the top station of the South chairlift. This will improve circulation on the slopes and distribute skier traffic more evenly.
Sunny Express is a state-of-the-art six-seater chairlift from Doppelmayr's D-Line series, designed for increasing visitor numbers and high comfort and safety standards.
Sunny Express is already the fourth Doppelmayr D-Line chairlift in Levi.
Significant improvements were implemented in the South Slopes for the 2025–2026 winter season: slopes 8.2 and 8.3 were combined into a wider run, the lighting was converted to LED technology, and the snowmaking system was modernized. In addition, the area's accessibility was improved with the addition of a new parking lot for approximately 600 vehicles.
Between 2019 and 2026, Levi invested approximately €64 million in slope and service development. The investment program includes the Levi West chairlift (2019), the Levi Glacier complex with chairlift in the Front Slopes (2022), the Levi Six chairlift and slope upgrades (2024), and the Sunny Express chairlift in the South Slopes, which will be completed for the 2026–2027 winter season.
Levi Ski Resort records over 600,000 skier days annually within its modern mountain infrastructure. The resort boasts 44 slopes and a total of 26 lifts, including two gondolas and – with the new lift – six chairlifts. The total length of groomed slopes is 38.5 kilometers.
A sense of responsibility guides Levi Ski Resort's investment program. Sunny Express represents state-of-the-art lift technology, and the manufacturer has assessed its environmental impact across its entire life cycle using an ISO-compliant life cycle analysis.
