DAV and Mammut Forge New Ground with Exclusive Team Collection

The German Alpine Club (Deutscher Alpenverein, DAV) and Swiss outdoor equipment giant Mammut have unveiled a new joint team collection, marking the next chapter in a collaboration that has long defined high-performance alpine equipment in the German-speaking world.

The DAV (Deutscher Alpenverein) is one of the world's largest mountain sports associations, with over one million members. Mammut, founded in 1862 in Dintikon, Switzerland, is a leading manufacturer of mountain sports equipment, apparel, and footwear.

The collection — designed for DAV's competitive athletes, expedition teams, and national squad members — spans a range of technical apparel and hardware, from insulated mountain jackets and hardshell layers to harnesses and rucksacks. Each piece carries co-branded DAV and Mammut insignia and was developed with direct input from elite athletes currently active on the DAV roster.

"This is not simply a logo on a jacket," said a DAV spokesperson at the collection's launch event in Munich. "Every piece was tested in real conditions by the people who will wear it — on rock faces, in alpine winters, and at altitude. That feedback shaped the final product from the ground up."

Mammut, long regarded as one of Europe's premier manufacturers of technical mountain gear, has emphasized that the collection reflects the company's ongoing commitment to performance over aesthetics. Key pieces include a revised expedition softshell with updated stretch paneling suited to high-output climbing, as well as a lightweight down hybrid jacket engineered for belay use in sub-zero conditions.

The partnership also extends beyond equipment. Both organizations have signaled their intention to collaborate on athlete development programs, safety training initiatives, and sustainability efforts — an area of increasing importance to both bodies. Mammut has committed to using recycled materials in the majority of fabrics used across the new range, in line with its broader environmental targets.

For DAV members and fans of the sport, a limited selection of items from the team collection will be made available to the public through Mammut's retail partners and online store, giving outdoor enthusiasts the chance to access the same gear worn by Germany's top alpine athletes.

The collection is available from spring 2025, with further seasonal drops planned throughout the year.
