Conos Wintertrend Excursion 2026 Analyzes Olympic Venues Bormio & Livign Plus Pontedilegno-Tonale And Madonna Di Campiglio In On-Site Check
16/February/2026
Conos Wintertrend Excursion 2026 provided strategic impetus and a practical “reality check” for future decisions in ski resorts and destinations.
As part of this year's conos Wintertrend 2026 excursion, they were able to strategically analyze and practically compare the two 2026 Olympic venues of Bormio and Livigno , as well as the two exciting winter destinations of Passo Tonale / Ponte di Legno and Madonna di Campiglio , directly on site in Lombardy and Trentino together with almost 40 top tourism professionals:
The aim of the conos trend expeditions is to gain a practical perspective and new inspiration through expert discussions, behind-the-scenes insights, and reflections on offerings from the customer's point of view, regarding what will make winter sports destinations successful in the future: positioning and brand logic, experience quality on the mountain, premium strategies, visitor management, and the question of how strong prerequisites become genuine competitive strength .
“The sheer size of what’s on offer is no longer the only thing that counts. From a customer’s perspective, the presence or absence of tangible quality and experiential moments, as well as the ability to present a cohesive image as a destination, are becoming increasingly essential in a competitive comparison,” summarizes organizer Arnold Oberacher's reflections on the tour’s findings.
Livigno impresses with its excellent strategic future prospects (altitude/reliable snow, attractive location, solid infrastructure, wide range of experiences). At the same time, a clear lesson emerges: where multiple stakeholder logics coexist, synergies, clarity, and brand power remain untapped – even though this is precisely what makes the difference in international competition.
Bormio is strongly associated with sporting excellence and its proximity to the Olympics. For its overall tourism appeal, the combination of the town, its thermal baths, and its sporting profile will be key – and thus also the question of how to make these strengths more visible and tangible for guests.
Passo Tonale / Ponte di Legno impressed with its innovative spirit, professionalism, and event expertise – including hosting the Paradice Music Festival – an innovative event format in an igloo on the mountain that offers visitors to the region an extraordinary experience twice a week. This is an area whose development, given its plans and dynamism, should be closely watched in the coming years.
Madonna di Campiglio confirms the logic of the premium classic : consistently protect quality, further develop the experience and not maximize frequency at any price – this year, for the first time, targeted approaches to visitor and target group limitation and thus increase the quality perception of guests were implemented through innovative ticket and pricing approaches .
Due to the gratifyingly high demand for the January tour, an additional date will now take place from March 24–27, 2026 – then it will be interesting to see what experiences from the Olympics will emerge afterwards.
