Bernard Vogel will become the new Chairman of the Board of Directors of Belalp Bahnen AG.

The Board of Directors of Belalp Bahnen AG has nominated Bernard Vogel as its new Chairman. The official election will take place at the Annual General Meeting in September 2026, with the start of his term scheduled for October 1, 2026.

With his many years of leadership experience in the tourism and transport sectors – including as CEO of Air-Glaciers – Bernard Vogel brings extensive expertise in corporate management, risk management, infrastructure, and alpine logistics. His strategic competence and regional roots will provide important impetus for the sustainable development of Belalp Bahnen AG.

When the first cable car from Blatten to Belalp opened in 1953, it initially served the local population as an important new means of transport. At first, the cable car only operated in the summer. But the first hotels quickly sprang up on Belalp, laying the foundation for tourism.

Today, the cable cars are the backbone of this tourist region. The Naters-Blatten-Belalp destination has developed into a true gem. Small but perfectly formed!
