Valle Nevado Extends 2026 Ski Season Through October 18 Following Major Winter Storms
26/August/2026
After receiving more than 17 feet of snowfall this winter, Valle Nevado, South America's premier ski resort, has announced it will extend its 2026 ski season through October 18, giving North American skiers and snowboarders several additional weeks to experience excellent spring conditions in the Chilean Andes.
The season extension follows a series of powerful storm cycles that have delivered significant snowfall to Chile's Central Andes, resulting in deep snow coverage and excellent skiing and snowboarding conditions heading into September.
"We are experiencing a remarkable season, and the snow and slope conditions are exceptional," said Dominique Rudloff, General Manager of Valle Nevado. "Extending through October 18 gives skiers and snowboarders even more time to enjoy what has been an incredible winter in the Andes. With great snow, longer spring days and 121 days of skiing, this is a season we won't soon forget."
