Top Ski & Outdoor PR Lynsey Devon Aims For the stars with new venture - Heavenly Publicity

The travel PR world has a new agency on the map this week, as Lynsey Devon — the industry veteran behind Heaven Publicity for the past 15 years — has officially launched Heavenly Publicity, a smaller, boutique consultancy built to serve a hand-picked roster of clients. The launch coincides with news that Visit The Falkland Islands has appointed the new agency to represent it in the UK, alongside a roster of established ski and travel names.

A new chapter after 15 years

Devon founded the original Heaven Publicity in 2012, after two decades establishing Hotelplan as a leader in the luxury ski, city breaks and villa sectors, and overseeing PR for TUI Travel PLC's Specialist Activity Sector and its stable of 104 companies. Over more than two decades in the industry, she built a reputation for effective, high-profile publicity campaigns across the travel and ski sectors, earning warm praise from partners ranging from Verbier Tourisme to Isere’s tourist board and the late-lamented la Folie Douce brand. In announcing the move, Devon said she had loved the "buzz" of building a bigger agency but felt the time was right to scale down deliberately — trading breadth for depth, and reserving space to pursue her own passion for travel alongside client work. Heavenly Publicity will operate as a lean, solo-led outfit, with Devon "sailing solo" day-to-day, though she has secured back-up support if required.

A smaller book, the same big names

Heavenly Publicity's initial client list draws heavily on relationships forged over Devon's Heaven Publicity years, including alpine resort Verbier, ski specialist VIP SKI, sports retailer Intersport, French resort La Plagne, and expedition cruise line — a mix of ski, retail and cruise accounts that reflects the breadth of Devon's client base built up since 2012.

The standout new addition, however, is Visit The Falkland Islands, marking the tourist board's entry into a dedicated UK PR relationship with the newly formed agency.

Why the Falklands

Situated roughly 400 miles off the south-eastern coast of South America, the Falklands are an archipelago of more than 700 islands, anchored by the two main landmasses of East and West Falkland. The destination has built a growing profile among wildlife and adventure travellers in recent years, largely on the strength of its exceptional biodiversity: Volunteer Point alone hosts a king penguin colony of more than a thousand birds, alongside gentoo, magellanic and rockhopper colonies scattered across the islands, each with their own distinct character. The islands are home to five species of penguin in total, and are considered one of the last largely untouched wildlife havens left in the world, with elephant seals and sea lions breeding on its shores and orcas patrolling nearby waters.

Beyond wildlife, the appeal lies in scale and solitude — vast open spaces, dramatic coastline, and a landscape still largely free of modern development, making the Falklands a natural fit for the kind of considered, story-led PR that a boutique agency can offer a single, high-value account real focus.

Emma Berg goes independent too

The restructure at Heaven Publicity runs in two directions. Emma Berg, who joined the agency in early 2022 and rose to account manager, has also departed after a four-and-a-half-year tenure to launch her own independent consultancy, Emma Berg PR. During her time at Heaven, Berg built expertise across a range of accounts spanning French ski resorts to glamping ventures in Japan and bespoke worldwide luxury holidays, drawing on language skills developed while living and working in Brazil, Spain and France.

Berg's new venture launches with an established portfolio of alpine and travel clients transitioning with her, including Morzine & Avoriaz in the Portes du Soleil, and the Austrian Tirol tourism board — joined, per this week's announcement, by Kitzbühel and Tropical Sky.

Two agencies, one shared history

Together, the two launches effectively mark the end of Heaven Publicity in its established form and the beginning of two smaller, founder-led consultancies serving overlapping corners of the ski and travel press — a structure increasingly common in UK travel PR, where boutique, relationship-driven agencies are competing for attention against larger integrated communications firms.
