One year to go until the 2027 UCI Cycling World Championships Haute-Savoie Mont-Blanc

With less than one year to go until the 2027 UCI Cycling World Championships, Haute Savoie Mont Blanc is preparing to welcome the world's best cyclists to the region over 13 days of competition in a true celebration of the sport.

From 24 August to 5 September 2027, the French Alpine region will host 20 UCI World Championships across two weeks of competition. Bringing together road cycling, mountain biking, BMX, gravel, speedway, paracycling, esports, indoor cycling and track cycling*, the event will see elite athletes compete against the backdrop of lakes, mountains and Alpine villages.

For cyclists, Haute-Savoie Mont Blanc is already recognised as one of Europe's leading biking destinations. Home to legendary Tour de France climbs, internationally renowned mountain bike trails and an extensive network of cycling routes for all levels including families, the region offers terrain for every type of cyclist.

During the event the whole of Haute Savoie Mont Blanc will be part of the festivities, with all the competitions taking place in breathtaking locations, with Mont Blanc, Europe’s highest mountain as the iconic backdrop. The same mountain roads, climbs and mountain bike trails that will challenge the world's best riders are open for cyclists to experience themselves, making Haute Savoie Mont Blanc the go-to region for anyone looking to ride

the same roads and trails as the professionals.

The 2027 UCI Cycling World Championships will see the road races take place around Sallanches and Domancy, while Annecy and Doussard will host the individual time trials. Les Gets, one of the world's best-known mountain bike destinations and a regular host of UCI Mountain Bike World Cup events, will stage the downhill and cross-country competitions. Samoëns - Grand Massif will host the cross-country marathon races, Morillon - Grand Massif the enduro and E-enduro events, Châtel - Portes du Soleil the gravel World Championships, marking the discipline's first appearance as part of the combined Championships. There will also be the explosive discipline of Cycle Speedway in Roche sur Foron and the Gran Fondo for non-professional cyclists between Thônes and La Clusaz,
