Early National Public Lands Day celebration to take place at Bogus Basin this Weekend
28/August/2026
Bogus Basin will host an early National Public Lands Day celebration and community volunteer event this Saturday, August 29th.
Nationally recognized on the last Saturday in September, National Public Lands Day honors the United States’ public lands through volunteer service and community celebration. Bogus Basin’s Environmental Stewardship team is marking the occasion early, inviting the community to the mountain for a day of hands-on conservation and connection.
“The team is excited to celebrate the nation’s public lands with the Bogus Basin community for the third year in a row. From volunteer stewardship opportunities to interactive activities and a raffle, there really is something everyone will enjoy at our early observance of this national event.”
Veronika Odom, Sustainability & Stewardship Coordinator
The day kicks off with a volunteer seed-collecting event, followed by an opportunity to interact with more than 15 booths by local organizations — including the National Forest Foundation, Idaho Fish & Game, the Bureau of Land Management, and the U.S. Forest Service. Attendees will have the chance to meet the people and agencies working to steward Idaho’s 33 million acres of public lands and take part in hands-on activities at each booth.
The team will also host several Guided Nature Hikes throughout the event. Visit the Visitor Information tent to join in on a hike!
