Doppelmayr commissions Goldbeck Rhomberg as general contractor for expansion project at the Hohe Brücke site

The expansion of the Doppelmayr site in the Hohe Brücke area of ​​Wolfurt is about to begin. Goldbeck Rhomberg has been commissioned as the general contractor for the project. LTW Intralogistics will be responsible for the construction of the high-tech high-bay warehouse. With this decision finalized, construction can begin in late summer 2026, with an estimated construction period of approximately four years.

With the expansion project at its Hohe Brücke site, Doppelmayr is implementing a key component of a site concept developed in Wolfurt approximately ten years ago. The project lays the foundation for the long-term development of production and logistics processes and for optimally positioning the site for future requirements.

Following an intensive planning phase, the awarding of the contract to the general contractor for the expansion of the Doppelmayr site in the Hohe Brücke area marks a significant milestone. Goldbeck Rhomberg will assume this role for the anticipated four-year construction period. The general contractor is placing a strong emphasis on collaboration with regional partners. Project partners from Vorarlberg will be commissioned for the various trades to strengthen regional value creation and further develop long-standing partnerships with local businesses. Construction is scheduled to begin in late summer 2026.

With the expansion of its plant at the Hohe Brücke site, Doppelmayr is creating additional capacity for the production of cable car components for international projects and space for a total of around 850 jobs. With construction costs exceeding €200 million, this is the largest single investment in Doppelmayr's more than 130-year history.

The overall project includes the construction of new production halls and a modern high-bay warehouse, which will significantly optimize material flows within manufacturing and logistics. LTW Intralogistics will be responsible for implementing this high-bay warehouse, which will have a storage capacity of 100,000 small parts storage locations, 50,000 Euro pallet spaces, and 1,800 spaces for large pallets. Modern automation solutions, digital process control, and the targeted use of robotics will enable even better integration of manufacturing, material flow, and logistics. The close proximity and concentration of all operations at a single location will allow for the efficient use of synergies and existing structures, as well as more flexible processes. The new production halls will cover an area of ​​45,000 square meters, equivalent to the size of more than six football fields.

The expansion of the Hohe Brücke plant is a crucial step to meet international demand and to strengthen the Wolfurt production site in the long term.
