Mt. Bachelor Acquires LOGE Bend Hotel, Rebranding It as The Trailhead Lodge

In a move that signals a deeper integration between the mountain and the town, Mt. Bachelor has officially announced the acquisition of the lease for the LOGE Bend hotel. The 70-room facility, located on the road to the mountains, will be immediately rebranded as The Trailhead Lodge, serving as the resort’s first dedicated off-mountain lodging partner in the Bend area.

The move is seen as a strategic play by the resort to secure more "base camp" style housing for its visitors, particularly as Bend continues to grow as a year-round destination for outdoor enthusiasts.

“We’re incredibly excited about this new business venture and look forward to everything from year-round events, community gatherings, mountain bike rentals, and connecting with adventure seekers traveling to Central Oregon,” said Lauren Burke, Mt Bachrlor's spokesperson.

A Gateway to the Cascades

While The Trailhead Lodge is not slopeside, its location on Century Drive makes it one of the most convenient jumping-off points for visitors headed to the resort. The facility is approximately a 20-minute drive from the West Village base area, sitting at the edge of the Deschutes National Forest.

The property has long been a favorite for the "adventure-first" traveler. Under its new identity as The Trailhead Lodge, the resort plans to lean into this heritage, maintaining the gear-friendly amenities that made LOGE a local staple while integrating more seamless resort services.

Connecting the Stay to the Slope

The rebranding to The Trailhead Lodge is expected to bring several new "mountain-first" perks for guests, including:

  • Streamlined Access: Integrated ticket and pass pickup kiosks in the lobby.

  • Shuttle Enhancements: Potential for dedicated lodge-to-mountain shuttle services to alleviate parking congestion at the resort.

  • Gear Storage: Expanded secure storage for skis, snowboards, and mountain bikes to accommodate year-round adventurers.

“The Trailhead Lodge is exactly what it sounds like—the start of your adventure,” a spokesperson for Mt. Bachelor stated. “By bringing this property into the Mt. Bachelor family, we can offer a more cohesive experience for our guests, from the moment they check in to their first chairlift ride of the day.”

The Hospitality Trend

The acquisition follows a growing trend among major North American ski resorts of expanding their footprint into town-based hospitality. By controlling the lodging experience, resorts can offer stay-and-play packages that are more insulated from the fluctuating prices of the general short-term rental market.

The 70-room lodge is expected to undergo minor cosmetic updates to reflect the new Mt. Bachelor branding, but the resort emphasized that the "relaxed, outdoor-focused vibe" of the property will remain intact. Whether guests are there for the winter powder or the summer’s world-class mountain biking and hiking trails, The Trailhead Lodge aims to remain Bend’s premier outdoor base camp.

Reservations for the upcoming summer season at The Trailhead Lodge are expected to open via the Mt. Bachelor website later this month.

The property has built a strong reputation over the years under the LOGE banner, which positioned it as a hub for outdoor enthusiasts of all stripes. Hikers, skiers, cyclists, and adventure travelers have long gravitated toward it as an accessible launching pad for exploring the wealth of outdoor recreation that the Bend area has to offer. That identity is expected to carry forward under the new name, with the Trailhead Lodge branding leaning into that same spirit of outdoor connection.
