Late Season Storm Brings Welcome Conditions Refresh to Mt. Rose Ski Tahoe

The winter season is far from over at Mt. Rose Ski Tahoe following a late season strom that brought 21 inches of fresh snow to the mountain this week, and cold temperatures that have allowed the resort to fire up its snowmaking system. The conditions reboot has guaranteed Tahoe’s best coverage and spring skiing conditions are at Mt. Rose Ski Tahoe -- the top of Tahoe -- thanks to the resort’s base elevation of 8,260’.

With almost two feet of fresh snow and the return of cold temperatures, the resort is currently making snow, with the snow machines layering on additional firepower to reboot winter conditions for the best spring season

“We’re always glad to welcome winter back, and this latest round of snow has ensured there are still great turns to be had as our spring season continues,” said Mike Pierce, Mt. Rose Ski Tahoe Marketing Director. “Late season powder days are a bonus, and with the spring events and deals we have planned, it’s not too late to get up here for some great skiing and riding!”

Spring events like the Mt. Rose Season Pass Renewal Party on Saturday, April 4 will include a raffle with the chance to win one of 10 pairs of custom capped signature Mt. Rose skis produced locally from Moment. An early Easter Sunday (April 5) will bring the Golden Egg search around the mountain plus a Kids’ Easter Egg Hunt at 10:00 a.m. near the main lodge. Next Saturday the “All Hail the Rail” rail jam will take place in front of the main lodge deck with cash prizes exceeding $3600.

Mt. Rose Ski Tahoe continues to stay “Open Late” Fridays and Saturdays with select lifts spinning from the main lodge until 6:00 p.m. further heightened by the Lakeview Deck apres experience. Spring Break full-day Kids Camps are being offered daily for ages 7-12 that include a full day of ski or snowboard lesson, equipment rentals, and lunch for $79 per day mid-week and $99 per day on Saturdays and Sundays.

The resort’s popular daily specials remain in effect, and a new Kids Lift Ticket & Lunch offer includes a kids full day lift ticket, pizza and fountain drink for $59 (ages 15 & under). For those who want to ski or ride the rest of this season and all of 2026-27, the DoubleDown season pass continues to be on sale, with prices starting at just $775 for adults, and $315 for kids ages 6-15.

Closing Day? Mt. Rose-Ski Tahoe will continue to ski until late April with the announcement of a last day TBD. Consistently the first resort open in Tahoe, Mt. Rose always pushes the 6-month season.
