Brian Head Extends Season, Offers $1 Lift Tickets on Friday, May 1

Brian Head Resort is adding an extra day to its closing weekend, extending its 2025–26 ski season with a bonus day of skiing and riding on Friday, May 1. Lift tickets that day will be available for just $1.

The resort’s closing weekend was originally scheduled for Saturday, May 2, and Sunday, May 3. On Friday, May 1, Brian Head will reopen with 12 trails served by Giant Steps Express and the new Giant Steps conveyor lift.

"We are grateful for the hard work of the Brian Head team that enabled us to launch May skiing in Utah,” said Tom Pettigrew, general manager at Brian Head Resort. “And we're excited to enable skiing for all by offering $1 lift tickets."

Brian Head Resort’s 9,600-foot base elevation, the highest in Utah, has helped preserve late-season coverage. The resort also received 3 inches of snow this week, and colder temperatures allowed crews to resume snowmaking at Giant Steps ahead of closing weekend.

Brian Head will finish the season with 160 days of winter operations, one of the longest ski season in Utah this year. The resort was also the first in Utah to open for the season on Nov. 21, 2025.

Closing weekend celebrations on Saturday, May 2, will include:

  • Raffle giveaways: Each lift ticket scan earns one raffle entry, so every lap counts. Guests who arrive in costume will receive extra entries. Prizes include lift tickets, a one-night stay at Brian Head Lodge, and a weekday season pass.

  • Group photo: A mountain-wide group photo will take place at noon at the top of Giant Steps Lift.

  • Music: A live DJ will perform on the Giant Steps Lodge patio from noon to 3 p.m.

Costumes are encouraged as the resort sends off the season in style.
