Austrian & German Masters 2026 crowned at the Kitzsteinhorn

The fifth edition of the Austrian & German Masters was successfully held on April 7 and 8 at the Kitzsteinhorn. A total of 70 snowboarders from 19 nations took the opportunity to compete in the prestigious Austrian & German Masters, which also served as the penultimate Big Air European Cup of the winter season. The Austrian and German Big Air championship titles were also awarded by the ASA (Austrian Snowboard Association) and Snowboard Germany.

At the Kitzsteinhorn, the riders pulled out all the stops, showcasing an impressively high level of skill across the entire field. Once again, the Japanese team dominated: Hiromu Watanabe secured the victory and valuable European Cup points with a frontside 1620 Indy and a cab 1440 mute grab. Second place went to Niklas Huber (GER), who also claimed the German championship title. Sora Horigome (JPN) finished third. In the women's competition, Sofia Afanaseva (AIN) clearly prevailed with a backside double cork 1080 and a frontside double cork 1080 mute. Dutch Olympian Melissa Peperkamp landed in second place, while Yura Murase (JPN) completed the podium in third.

The 2026 German Big Air Championship titles went to Heli Bockhorn (women) and Niklas Huber (men). Ilvy Paul (women) and Lennox König (men) were crowned Austrian Masters champions . A fitting end to the season for the ASA and Snowboard Germany, marking the fifth anniversary of the jointly organized Austrian & German Masters.
