April 25th Mottolino bids farewell to winter with a day open to the freestyle community and snow enthusiasts

On Saturday 25 April Mottolino lights up the end of the winter season with the Slash Party , a dedicated event that brings together riders, the public and the community on the snow in the name of fun.

Mottolino  is one of two ski areas on the Livigno plateau, in Little Tibet. It was the first Italian ski area to believe and invest in freestyle skiing and is a hotspot for a young, cool crowd thanks to its snowpark, which hosts halfpipe, slopestyle, and big air competitions during the 2026 Milan-Cortina Olympics. Where snowboarding takes center stage in winter, mountain biking takes center stage in summer at the Mottolino Bike Park, one of Italy's premier bike parks and a hub for downhill and freeride enthusiasts.

"The Slash Party was born from a simple yet ambitious idea," explains Ian Rocca, Mottolino CEO , "to bring the community together and create a barrier-free space where professional athletes, young talents, and riders can share the same experience. We wanted an event that would put everyone on the same level, transcending traditional judging methods and allowing the riders themselves to recount and reward their performances through rider judging."

The true value of this event lies in the opportunity for the freestyle club members and all participants to directly interact with top-level athletes, sharing lines, energy, advice, and fun.

Oakley Flow Park and Camanel will be the venues for the initiative, where the entire day will be filled with snow riding and socializing in the refuge. The heart of the event will be the Big Air Contest , open to skiers and snowboarders of all levels, who will compete on a structure designed to showcase style, technique, and airborne tricks . The performances will be evaluated by the athletes themselves: not only on the difficulty of the maneuvers, but also on the quality of execution, fluidity of movement, control during landing, and the personal style with which each rider interprets the jump.

The program then includes the Pond Skim , one of the most iconic moments of the end-of-season events. The challenge will take place on an 18-meter- long pool of water built on snow, which riders will have to cross on skis or snowboards while maintaining speed, balance, and control, all without sinking.

A format that is as technical as it is spectacular but also extremely entertaining,

Participants are free to creatively interpret the competition, using disguises and costumes that make each stage unique.

The entire event will also feature a judging system . There will be no traditional jury: the athletes themselves will express their opinions according to the riders' judging formula, which promotes peer recognition and rewards not only technique but also style, creativity, and attitude.

The event will see the presence of official partners Atomic and Corona , helping to give further value to a day that aims to be both a sporting celebration and a meeting point for the entire freestyle community .

The awards ceremony will be held at 2pm at the Camanel , with the announcement of the Top 3 Ski Big Air and Snowboard Big Air , along with the award for the Best Pool Moment , followed by music and a DJ set to accompany the rest of the day.

Among the day's most anticipated guests will be Chris Benchetler, one of the most influential names in international freeskiing. His participation adds value to the entire event, strengthening its connection to the most authentic and contemporary freestyle culture.

In the evening, the program will continue with the premiere of Mountains of the Moon, the film by Chris Benchetler, a special event that will bring to Mottolino not only one of the discipline's most iconic protagonists, but also the story of his creative vision through a free screening open to all.

To close out the Slash Party, the evening will move to Kosmo Taste the Mountain for a convivial dinner, before the final party at Miky's.
